CERTIFICATION IN VISION AND LEARNING
Dr. Kevin Cline Dr.
Cline was raised in Western Kansas in the small town of Victoria. Dr. Cline
graduated from Victoria High School in 1974. He went on to Kansas State
University and earned his bachelor of science in Chemical Science and also
earned his teaching certificate. After college, he taught High School
Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and General Science. After two years, he left
teaching and worked at Arrow Laboratories in Wichita for 4 years. During his
term at Arrow Laboratories he went to school part time and applied to Optometry
school. In 1985, he was accepted to Northeastern State University College of
Optometry. While at Northeastern, Dr. Cline was accepted into Beta Sigma Kappa
Honor Society. BSK is an association for those students at the top of their
class, Dr. Cline was a member for all four years of Optometry school. He was
awarded outstanding Senior Research Project which was eventually accepted for
publication. Dr. Cline graduated from Northeastern College of Optometry in
1989. He has practiced in the Wichita area since 1989. Mulvane Vision Care was
opened in 1992. In addition to primary eye care Dr. Cline provides the unique
service of treating Learning Related Vision problems such as difficulties with
eye tracking, focusing, eye teaming, visual motor, visual perceptual problems,
amblyopia and eye turns. Dr. Cline is a member of the American Optometric
Association and served for 3 years on the Pediatric/Binocular Vision Committee.
He is also a member of Kansas Optometric Association, the Optometric Extension
Program, and a Fellow in the College of Optometry in Vision Development. Dr.
Cline also is an adjunct professor at Newman University where he teaches a
workshop on Vision and Learning. Dr. Cline is married to Wendy and they have
four children: Kyle, Andrea, Brent, and Jeremy. Dr. Cline enjoys writing songs,
singing, and playing the guitar.
Dr. Trevor Askew Dr. Askew is a native to the Kansas area, born in the small town
of Minneola, Ks just outside of Dodge City. He grew up in the Goddard area and
graduated from Goddard High School in 2000. Dr. Askew then attended the
University of Kansas and received a degree in Human Biology in 2004. He
graduated from the University of Missouri Saint Louis School of Optometry in May
of 2008. While in school Dr. Askew was a member of the honor society Beta Sigma
Kappa, as well as the American Optometric Association and the Kansas Optometric
Association. During his last year of Optometry school he completed externships
in many different clinical setting. He began his rotations at University of
Missouri St. Louis working in a variety of optometric areas. Next, was St. Louis
Community Services working in community clinics providing eyecare to those who
often needed it the most. In August of 2007, he started a four month rotation at
the Kansas City VA focusing on the treatment and management of ocular disease. Finally, the last two rotations were in the Wichita area. The first was at Grene
Vision Group focusing on the treatment and management of disease, and the final
rotation was with Drs. Sullivan and Toon who also use vision therapy in the
treatment of vision related learning problems. Dr. Askew is married to Sara.
They have no children at this time unless you consider a spoiled Boston Terrier
named Billy a child. As a new graduate, Dr. Askew is eager to meet you and
provide all of your eye care needs.
