You may wonder when should my child have their first eye exam?
Many
are surprised that the recommended age for an initial eye exam is "6" months of age. Vision is something that develops. At
birth we have poor vision, but by about 6 months of age, with normal development
infants should be nearing adult acuities. We start seeing
infants at age 6 months to check that visual development is on track. Then
again at age 3, age 5 (before kindergarten)
and every year after this. Protect the most precious gift
we have been given
..Vision.
Infants
should have a vision exam. Drs. Cline and Askew participates in the INFANTSEE Program. The goal of the program is to ensure that every child
has an opportunity to have a vision assessment before he or
she turns one year old. Has your infant been examined?
Sun
glasses for the little ones? Harmful
UV radiation does not only affect your eyes but your toddler's
eyes as well. We now have EYES CREAM SHADES. These sunglasses
come in shatter proof polycarbonate for maximun protection
as well as full UV protection. If your child wears a prescription
some of these EYES CREAM SHADES can be made with your child's
prescription in them.
